Act fast! NCCPA members will have the opportunity to secure high-quality professional development sessions for their campuses.  Each “expert” has dedicated his or her time and expertise to help raise funds for the NCCPA scholarship and research grants program.

How’s it work?   It’s simple.  It’s first-come, first-served.  Each expert has donated one session up for grabs.
If you’re the first to make the online donation, the session is yours.
You may also follow instructions below to  submit a “bid” for the session.  If NCCPA chooses to accept your bid, you will receive a contract via email to be signed.  But you must have the contract signed and returned to NCCPA to claim the session before an online donation is made!

Payment Agreement:  The NCCPA Asking Price listed is the amount that can be donated online immediately to claim the expert’s session.  If you claim one of the sessions, you agree to work with the expert to provide reasonable travel costs in addition to the Asking Price.  Contracts will include the instructions for submitting payment to NCCPA and will include a clause stating that the individual/institution should work with the expert to provide reasonable travel costs.

If you need a written estimate to get approval for a credit card payment, just send an email to nccpa.members@gmail.com.

Session Title:
What’s Your Innovation Type?

Description of Session:
We are all feeling increased pressure to update and transform the work that we do.  We know some of our systems and process are out-of-date, but what do we do about it?  If you have difficulty innovating or are intimidated by the whole concept, perhaps it’s because you don’t know what kind of innovator you actually are.

We use tools like the MBTI and Strong with our students to help them first understand themselves, then articulate and apply that information.  This session, based loosely on the book The Ten Faces of Innovation, will help you understand that there are different types of innovation and innovators.  By exploring these types and better understanding where you fit, you can then apply that information to situations that require creativity and innovation.

After an innovation overview and large-group warm-up, all attendees will take an assessment, created by the presenter, to use as a starting point for small-group discussions.  Professionals all areas of student affairs and higher education will benefit from this guided dialog and leave the session with a better understanding of their ability to be creative and innovative.
